Susan Thorpe donated $6,000 to Camp Quality following the recent death of her brother Alan.
Alan Thorpe was a remarkable mechanical engineer, fabricator, inventor, builder of sheds and all things mechanical, but most of all Alan was a dedicated British car enthusiast and collector of all things, Jaguar, Land Rover and Mini.
Members of the Jaguar Drivers Club have catalogued the whole Jaguar collection, much of which was still in the process of restoration. Sadly, Alan died earlier this year and did not see completion of the projects he had so carefully collected and worked on for over 30 years.
As Camp Quality is the Auckland Jaguar Drivers Car Club's charity of choice it was suggested to his sister Susan that she make a donation to Camp Quality which she has done.
